Big fall in the index, decreased transactions

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended the first working day of the week on Sunday (January 9) with a sharp fall in the index. On this day, the volume of transactions on DSE and CSE has decreased as compared to the previous working day. At the same time, the shares and units of most of the companies traded on the stock market also declined.

The main index of the major stock market DSEX DSEX fell 54.63 points to 6932.61 points. Among other DSE indices, the Shariah index fell 4.01 points to 147.13 points and the DSE-30 index fell 23.98 points to 2569.12 points.

Of the 36 companies traded on the DSE on Sunday, 96 rose, 247 declined and 32 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 1,456.63 crore were traded on the DSE, which is Tk 225 crore less than the previous working day.

CSE’s main index CSEX is down 112.40 points to 12,196.04 points. Among other indices, the overall CASPI index is down 164.75 points at 20,310.35 points and the CSI index is down 4.58 points at 1,260.69 points.

Shares and units of 304 companies traded on the CSE on Sunday. Of these, prices have risen for 72, decreased for 195 and remained unchanged for 28. At the end of the day, 40 crore 40 lakh shares and units were traded on the CSE, which is 1 crore less than the previous day.
