During the meeting, the resolution was read out in the context of partial changes in the constitution, mask distribution program, strong condemnation and protest against defamatory news in various newspapers and magazines against the finance editor of Satkhira Online Press Club, senior journalist Arun Banerjee It was decided to offer deep condolences and distribute masks at the Collector’s premises next Sunday (January 23) at 11 am.
The speakers said that the reputation of the journalists of Satkhira is well known in the international arena beyond the borders of the country. However, in the name of those journalists, some journalists published defamatory news at different times. Recently, in the wake of such an incident, Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique, Finance Editor of Satkhira Online Press Club and Border Correspondent of the weekly Suryer Alo, submitted a statement to Satkhira Police Station. However, the working journalists expressed regret that the statement was not recorded even after 3 days. And the speakers immediately drew the attention of the concerned senior officers of the police to record the incident.
