KUJ’s discussion meeting on the 18th death anniversary of Ekushey Medal winning journalist Manik Saha

Leaders of Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ) have demanded that maximum punishment be given to the culprits through re-investigation of journalist Manik Saha’s murder case.

This demand was made by the journalist leaders at the commemoration meeting of the 18th death anniversary of Ekushey Padak recipient Manik Saha held at the union office on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11 am.

Former President of Khulna Journalists Union Maqbool Hossain Mintu, Former General Secretary Mohammad Saheb Ali, Former General Secretary Mozammel Haque Hawlader, Former General Secretary Mohammad Shah Alam, Former General Secretary Mallick Sudhanshu spoke on the occasion. Former President Md. Anwarul Islam Kajal, Vice-President Mahendra Nath Sen, Treasurer Abhijit Pal, Publicity and Cultural Secretary Nur Hasan Johnny, BFUJ Executive Member Kaushik De Bappi, Khulna Press Club’s newly elected Treasurer SM Kamal, Asaduzzaman Riaz, Rakib Uddin Pannu, Prabir Kumar Biswas.

Also present at the time were Rashedul Ahsan Bablu, Titas Chakraborty, Debnath Ranojit Rono, Debabrata Roy, Abdul Malek, Md. Milon Hossain, Md. Hasanur Rahman Tanjir, Dilip Barman, Sagar Sarkar, SM Bahauddin Bahar, Mollah Shahjalal Milon, Abu Saeed, Hasan. Al Mamun, Palay Dutt, Raju Saha, Zakaria Hossain Tushar, Zahidul Islam, SM Zahidul Islam Sagar, Shashank Swarnakar and others.

 

The meeting was chaired by Niamul Hasan Kochi, Joint Secretary of Khulna Journalists Union (KUJ).

At the beginning of the meeting, a minute of silence was observed for the peace of the soul of journalist Manik Saha.

Earlier, the leaders of Khulna Journalists Union (KUJ) paid their respects by laying wreaths at the Martyred Journalist Memorial at Khulna Press Club premises.
