MM Saheb Ali, Asashuni (Satkhira) Correspondent : A women’s rally on disaster management has been held at Asashuni Sadar.

Hossainuzzaman Hossain, newly elected chairman of Asashuni Sadar UP, addressed as the chief guest at a rally funded by ECO under the STEP project to pass through the premises of Dayarghat Government Primary School in Asashuni Sadar yesterday afternoon.

ACF Tanvir Hossain of the project presided over the meeting in collaboration with Axon Against Hunger, presented by Field Facilitator Tirtha Kumar Dey with the aim of forming a women’s committee.

UP member Tarak Chandra Mandal and female member Marufa Khatun spoke as special guests.

Among others, women leaders Jamuna Rani Mandal, Chande Mandal, Mamata Shil and others spoke.

The meeting unanimously formed a 15-member 18-month women’s disaster management committee with Subarna Rani Sana as president and Chanda Rani Mandal as general secretary.
